This sport definitely keeps me motivated throughout the year! The people in this sport are amazing athletes, coaches, volunteers, competitors, and friends. My favorite part of this sport is spending time with family and friends on the water - Lake Minnetonka, Mississippi River, East Silent Lake, Lake Powell, Canyon Lake, Wailua River or wherever.

Competing Since: 2000 (began water-skiing back in 1982 on combo skis, started swivel skiing, shoe skiing, and other misc stuff in 1998 with the Twin Cities River Rats, and finally on the foil in 1998) Sponsor: FoilTech, Adrenaline Watersports, H20 Clothing, Great Lakes Consulting, and my family!
Favorite Trick: Front Flip Floater Ski Club: MN Hydrofoil Club
Future Goals: Land a Ball-n-Chain mobius - or I will take any mobe for that matter. Favorite Rider(s): Todd Kyser and Cheryl Roberts
USHA Events: Just a few including Pro Tour, Chain Reaction, Nationals 2007-2009, JAX Spring Fling, USHA Video competitions, USHA Nationals team competition (just for fun)! Past Accomplishments: 1st female to land a wake front flip (2002); 1st female to land a WFF in competition (2003); 2nd female to land an air front flip; 1st female to land a 7-sinker combo roll (2009); 2nd female to land a 360 in competition (2007) ...

What got you hooked/interested in foiling? A dare from my husband. You have to understand that as a boat driver sometimes it's not as fun to drive a swivel skier all day long at 15 mph. So he tried to get me on his hydrofoil and I was hooked. Sorry Betty Bonifay!

Why Join USHA? Why not? If you like hydrofoil or other watersports, support the passion and support the sport. More members means more grants and support to do ...more! It would be great to see 100s of younger riders competing at a local hydrofoil cable park or just hanging out with their favorite pro rider at the next Pro Tour or X Games event.
